They tried to resist a marriage of convenience...As the clan chief's son, Adam MacGregor is duty-bound to marry a royal heir. Yet when he meets his bride—a beautiful but haughty young lass who thinks he is nothing more than a common savage—he realizes she's more than he bargained for. But the more Adam gets to know his new wife, the more intent he is on proving her wrong about him.
But can they resist each other?Sina de Arenberg wants nothing to do with the unsavory MacGregors, especially the fierce Highlander she now calls husband. But the more time she spends with the man she married, the more she sees his honor and courage. Just when she thinks there might be a future for her and Adam, Sina is called back to court. England isn't the place she remembers, though, and soon she'll be forced to choose between the life she once knew, and the Highlander who has captured her heart.

Ok, I really loved this book, Adam and Sina are great characters. Both put in the horrible position of having to get married when they don’t want to. Adam to help protect his clan, who he’d actually stepped away from for a bit because he didn’t believe he was worthy and ready for what was expected of him as the eldest son of the Clan Chief. Sina because that is. what her queen told her to do. This love story is filled with anger, forgiveness, fighting, rescues, self-discovery and most assuredly love.

Who needs a knight in shining armor when there's an earl at your side...?
Gwendeline Gregory doesn't know what to think when she encounters the dashing Alex St. Audley, Earl of Merryn. She's in over her head in London Society, trying to fend off a scoundrel who will stop at nothing to ruin her. On the brink of a devastating scandal, the earl arrives just when she needs him most. But are his motivations trustworthy? And can he avert ruin for both of them?

This story starts out with Gwendeline about ready to lose her home and everything she knows after the untimely death of her parents. Who really wasn’t that parental and spent more time traveling and tending to their own interests instead of their daughter. Unsure of what to do with herself due to her upbringing and her station among the English society and having no relatives to rely on. Gwendeline is in a real pickle, until Alex St Audley, the fifth Earl of Merryn arrives on her doorstep. Now Alex thought that she was a much younger girl and figured he would be her benefactor setting her up in a school. Much to both their surprises things turned out differently and while slow going seeing Gwendeline learn to navigate London and the Ton and Alex trying to help her. I enjoyed this story, the interactions between Alex and Gwendeline are good and the story does eventually pull you in after the slow start.

A fierce Englishwoman on the runA Highland Laird who needs a proper wifeAnd a desire neither can resist
Athena Trappes thinks she's in love...until she discovers the scoundrel only wanted her as his bit on the side. Enraged, she does what any spirited Englishwoman would do: set fire to his belongings, incur his dangerous wrath, and flee—immediately. With nowhere else to turn, she seeks freedom in the wilds of Scotland.
Highland Laird Symon Grant lost his wife years ago, and it's his duty to find another. Athena is not exactly what the clan has in mind for him, but Symon's heart burns with unexpected passion for the woman who would risk everything to be free.

A Historical Romance book filled with Highlanders, what’s not to like. Athena is a naive young lady who put her trust in the wrong man, one that was above her station in life. When she finally learns what a mistake she made she needs to flee, and what better place to flee to than the Highlands. Thankfully she meets Symon and he is able to bring her around to believing not all men are bad.

This was an easy fun, quick read with plenty of romance. I would recommend this to any who enjoy historical romance books.

This Highlander will risk everything to find his daughter...
Lachlan MacKenzie has nothing left to lose since his wife and daughter were killed. But when a shadowy figure reveals his little girl might still be alive, Lachlan will do whatever it takes to find her—even abduct a lass from the MacGregor clan for an exchange. Being caught would mean certain death. But the laird of the Black Isle won't let anything—or anyone—interfere with his mission...not even his beautiful, stubborn captive.
Even his heart
All Mailie MacGregor wants is to return home to her family. And the Highland beast who captured her can go to the devil. Her plan: to thwart him at any cost and win her freedom. But she never expected to be so drawn to the fierce warrior and the desire in his eyes.

Paula Quinn is another favorite author of mine. I love how her books take me to another place and time as I read them.

Lachlan and Mailie were wonderful together in this book. Lachlan has hidden away after the deaths of his wife and daughter to lick his wounds and to try and heal. He’s doing the minimum amount of work possible for the people in his care because he’s despondent and hurting due to his own unimaginable loss. Mailie is a heroine who is easy to fall for she’s smart feisty and will fight for what she believes in. The journey Lachlan and Mailie take is not an easy one but makes for a very interesting read.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Laurens returns to Scotland, where destiny and passion intertwine...
Thomas Carrick is determined to make his own life in the bustling port city of Glasgow, far from the demands of the Carrick clan, eventually with an appropriate wife on his arm. But disturbing events on his family's estate force Thomas to return to the Scottish countryside—where he is forced to ask for help from the last woman he wants to face. Thomas has never forgotten Lucilla Cynster and the connection that seethes between them, but to marry Lucilla would mean embracing a life he's adamant is not for him.
Strong-willed and passionate, Lucilla knows Thomas is hers—her fated lover, husband, protector, mate. He is the only man for her, just as she is his one true love. How can he ignore a bond stronger than reason and choose a different path? She's determined to fight for their future, and while she cannot command him, she has enticements of her own to wield when it comes to tempting Thomas Carrick.

I really enjoyed this book, but then again I knew I would I’ve read all of the Cynster falling in love with them with the first book Devil’s Bride. I loved that they continued with the younger siblings of the Bar Cynster and now the next generation. I always had a soft spot for Richard Cynster and of course Catriona so I was happy to see this book was about their daughter Lucilla. How the two of them fight fait, or well how Thomas does makes for interesting interactions between him and Lucilla. As with the other books there is a mystery and it was a nice  journey watching the two of them solve the problems that are going on at Thomas’ uncles place. If you’ve read and enjoyed any of the other Cynster books that you will enjoy this one too. I look forward to Lucillas’ brother Marcus’ story when that one comes out next.
