In this Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestseller, there are no such things as little secrets…
Raised by preppers, survivalist and FBI agent Mercy Kilpatrick has a deep-rooted need for a safe place. Her getaway in the Cascade Foothills is her secret. But when skeletal remains are unearthed—those of a murdered man linked to a notorious heist—Mercy realizes she isn’t the only one with something to hide.
Thirty years ago, an armored-car robbery turned deadly. The mastermind was captured. Four conspirators vanished with a fortune. One of them, it appears, never made it out of the woods alive. For Mercy and her fiancé, Police Chief Truman Daly, their investigation opens old wounds in Eagle’s Nest that cut deeper than they imagined. Especially when a reckless tabloid reporter draws fresh blood. It’s clear to Mercy that somebody in this close-knit community is not who they seem to be.
Some are still shattered by the heist. Some still have reason to be afraid. But which one will kill again and again to hide three decades of secrets? To land this case, it’s up to Mercy to unmask a familiar stranger before someone else dies.

While this is the 5th book in the series it is one that stands on its own, and you don’t have to have read the previous books to fully enjoy this story. The book is a great ready, the main characters Mercy Kilpatrick and her fiancé Truman Daly are fun and so likable. A book filled with mystery and hidden secrets that are coming to the surface. So you are entertained and will want to keep reading this book until you finish the last page.

The first book in a brutally stunning series where a young girl finds herself becoming more monster than human and must uncover dangerous truths about who she is and the place that has become her home.As the last child in a family of daughters, seventeen-year-old Janneke was raised to be the male heir. While her sisters were becoming wives and mothers, she was taught to hunt, track, and fight. On the day her village was burned to the ground, Janneke—as the only survivor—was taken captive by the malicious Lydian and eventually sent to work for his nephew Soren.
Janneke’s survival in the court of merciless monsters has come at the cost of her connection to the human world. And when the Goblin King’s death ignites an ancient hunt for the next king, Soren senses an opportunity for her to finally fully accept the ways of the brutal Permafrost. But every action he takes to bring her deeper into his world only shows him that a little humanity isn’t bad—especially when it comes to those you care about.
Through every battle they survive, Janneke’s loyalty to Soren deepens. After dangerous truths are revealed, Janneke must choose between holding on or letting go of her last connections to a world she no longer belongs to. She must make the right choice to save the only thing keeping both worlds from crumbling.

This is one of those books that took me reading several chapters to fully get into the book. But once I did I could hardly put the book down. I feel like this is one of those books you will either not care for or really love. This is also one of those books I will probably keep my daughter away from for a few more years due to some more graphic sexual and abuse references that at 13 I think she’s too young for. Other than that I found this to be a very enjoyable book

They tried to resist a marriage of convenience…As the clan chief’s son, Adam MacGregor is duty-bound to marry a royal heir. Yet when he meets his bride—a beautiful but haughty young lass who thinks he is nothing more than a common savage—he realizes she’s more than he bargained for. But the more Adam gets to know his new wife, the more intent he is on proving her wrong about him.
But can they resist each other?Sina de Arenberg wants nothing to do with the unsavory MacGregors, especially the fierce Highlander she now calls husband. But the more time she spends with the man she married, the more she sees his honor and courage. Just when she thinks there might be a future for her and Adam, Sina is called back to court. England isn’t the place she remembers, though, and soon she’ll be forced to choose between the life she once knew, and the Highlander who has captured her heart.

Ok, I really loved this book, Adam and Sina are great characters. Both put in the horrible position of having to get married when they don’t want to. Adam to help protect his clan, who he’d actually stepped away from for a bit because he didn’t believe he was worthy and ready for what was expected of him as the eldest son of the Clan Chief. Sina because that is. what her queen told her to do. This love story is filled with anger, forgiveness, fighting, rescues, self-discovery and most assuredly love.

Who needs a knight in shining armor when there’s an earl at your side…?
Gwendeline Gregory doesn’t know what to think when she encounters the dashing Alex St. Audley, Earl of Merryn. She’s in over her head in London Society, trying to fend off a scoundrel who will stop at nothing to ruin her. On the brink of a devastating scandal, the earl arrives just when she needs him most. But are his motivations trustworthy? And can he avert ruin for both of them?

This story starts out with Gwendeline about ready to lose her home and everything she knows after the untimely death of her parents. Who really wasn’t that parental and spent more time traveling and tending to their own interests instead of their daughter. Unsure of what to do with herself due to her upbringing and her station among the English society and having no relatives to rely on. Gwendeline is in a real pickle, until Alex St Audley, the fifth Earl of Merryn arrives on her doorstep. Now Alex thought that she was a much younger girl and figured he would be her benefactor setting her up in a school. Much to both their surprises things turned out differently and while slow going seeing Gwendeline learn to navigate London and the Ton and Alex trying to help her. I enjoyed this story, the interactions between Alex and Gwendeline are good and the story does eventually pull you in after the slow start.

The relationship between the Mason and Tees is fun to read, and its nice to see the good guy getting the girl. For a romance book this one checks off all the right boxes and has everything that you would want.
