In this enlightening cookbook, chef Jennifer Brule brings southern-style food together with plant-based approaches to eating. Her down-to-earth style and 105 recipes will immediately appeal to vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters alike. These dishes are also a boon for those who simply love southern food and want to learn more about options for flexitarian eating. Brule deliciously demystifies meat substitutes and flavors up familiar vegetables. Imagine vegetarian barbecue: Brule's recipe for spicing, saucing, and oven-roasting jackfruit offers a robustly tasty alternative to pulled pork. Tofu is the perfect base for crispy Southern Fried Buttermilk Nuggets, and cauliflower beautifully fills in for shrimp in a Cajun-inspired etouffee.
Brule also highlights just how many traditional southern dishes are in fact vegetarian, and they're gathered together for you in this gorgeously illustrated book. Beloved foods like tomato pie, pimento cheese, grits casserole, and more will encourage you to skip the meat without a second thought. With step-by-step instructions and notes on how to easily find new ingredients, The New Vegetarian South gathers a feast for everyone.

I really enjoyed this book. I have dabbled in cooking more vegetarian meals at home. But not really looked into any cookbooks filled with recipes before. The pictures in this cookbook are so colorful and amazing I have found many that I want to try. It will take me time to try them all because my kids are pretty picky and I have to bring new recipes into our repertoire slowly. So I will enjoy trying out the many recipes from this book for quite some time.

Nineteen-year-old Myla Lewis is loving life--she’s now a wife, mother, and Queen of the Thrax. Oh yeah, and being a super-powerful demigoddess who moves souls into Heaven or Hell doesn’t suck, either. In fact, everything is pretty much awesome. Until something craptastic happens.
Her honorary older brother Walker enters the Dark Lands, home to the rule-loving ghouls, and vanishes without a trace.
Now it’s up to Myla to solve the mystery of Walker’s disappearance. Of course, Myla likes interacting with ghouls about as much as elective dental surgery. To make matters harder, everyone thinks that Walker is simply taking a well-deserved vacation. But Myla and her Angelbound love, Lincoln, both suspect that a criminal named the Viper took Walker in order to somehow release Lucifer, the ex-King of the Angels who's a bloodthirsty maniac.
Long story short, Myla and Lincoln have just twenty-four hours to rescue their good friend and stop Lucifer from taking over the after-realms. Even for them, this may be a too-tall order, especially when Myla’s own father allows his past friendship with Lucifer to threaten Walker’s future.
Publisher's Note: Christina Bauer is a non-linear thinker who came up with ARMAGEDDON and then went back and wrote some earlier books. This is why you'll see ARMAGEDDON (Book 7) and the Offspring series available before THE BRUTAL TIME (Book 6). We've told her to stop this practice, but she keeps giving us lewd hand gestures in response. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience.

This was a great read! The first book in the Angelbound Origins series that I have read. This is another book I will recommend to my 13 year old daughter to read.  The characters, dialog, storyline are very engaging and keep you wanting to read more. I look forward to reading more stories from Christina Bauer, and especially from this series.

"Dell takes you on a fun, wild ride!" --B.J. DANIELS, New York Times Bestselling Author
He's always been the black sheep: the troublemaker. But this Christmas, the prodigal cowboy returns.
Rodeo bullfighter Hank Brookman was headed straight for the top. But after a single misstep resulted in devastating injury, he disappeared under a mountain of regrets. Now he's back, ready to face the loved ones he left behind-starting with the one girl his heart could never forget.
When Hank stormed out of Texas, he left Grace McKenna picking up the pieces...and struggling with a secret that changed everything. He may be back looking for redemption, but after everything they've been through, how can she admit what he really walked away from all those years ago?
Hank always knew persuading Grace to trust him again would be a tall order. Convincing her they deserve a happily ever after? That may take a Texas-sized Christmas miracle.
Texas Rodeo Series: Reckless in Texas (Book 1) Tangled in Texas (Book 2) Tougher in Texas (Book 3) Fearless in Texas (Book 4)Mistletoe in Texas (Book 5)
What People Are Saying about the Texas Rodeo series: "Look out, world! There's a new cowboy in town." --CAROLYN BROWN, New York Times Bestselling Author "An extraordinarily gifted writer."--KAREN TEMPLETON, author of Wed in the West series "Real Ranches. Real Rodeo. Real Romance."--LAURA DRAKE, author of Sweet on a Cowboy series "A sexy, engaging romance set in the captivating world of rodeo."--Kirkus"Illuminating...a standout in western romance."--Publishers Weekly

This was a nice second chance Christmas romance story for Hank and Grace. You have the usual bad boy done some girl wrong and is now back to try and redeem himself .  I have not read any of the other books in this Texas Rodeo Series and found that this book stands on its own just fine. This is also a story about love, forgiveness and acceptance. Of dealing with family issues and actions taken in the past that can affect everything. I think this is also one of those books that you will either really enjoy or will not like at all.
