A fierce Englishwoman on the runA Highland Laird who needs a proper wifeAnd a desire neither can resist
Athena Trappes thinks she's in love...until she discovers the scoundrel only wanted her as his bit on the side. Enraged, she does what any spirited Englishwoman would do: set fire to his belongings, incur his dangerous wrath, and flee—immediately. With nowhere else to turn, she seeks freedom in the wilds of Scotland.
Highland Laird Symon Grant lost his wife years ago, and it's his duty to find another. Athena is not exactly what the clan has in mind for him, but Symon's heart burns with unexpected passion for the woman who would risk everything to be free.

A Historical Romance book filled with Highlanders, what’s not to like. Athena is a naive young lady who put her trust in the wrong man, one that was above her station in life. When she finally learns what a mistake she made she needs to flee, and what better place to flee to than the Highlands. Thankfully she meets Symon and he is able to bring her around to believing not all men are bad.

This was an easy fun, quick read with plenty of romance. I would recommend this to any who enjoy historical romance books.

Werewolf SWAT Officer Jayden Brooks has yet to meet The One—but when he rescues teacher Selena Rosa from a hostage situation at her high school, he knows he’s in trouble. Her scent is irresistible.
There’s a reason for that powerful scent—and it isn’t an expensive perfume. Thanks to the traumatizing events at the school, the werewolf gene flipped on and Selena’s going through the change. Even scarier, she’s on track to become an omega—an out-of-control and violent breed. It’s going to take everything Brooks has if he wants any chance to pull her back from the edge…and ultimately win her heart.

Action adventure, Romance, Shapeshifter this book has it all. Jayden hadn’t meet his One, the person he is destined to be with until he meets Selena. In the aftermath of her hostage situation Selena begins the transformation of becoming a werewolf.  Lucky for her Jayden is there to help.

I really enjoyed this book, even though it is a part of a series you don’t have to read the previous books in the series to thoroughly enjoy this one. But if you are like me after reading this one you will want to go back and read the previous books.

She's impulsive, fiery, tempting as hell, and everything I don't need. But when she offers me a night of no-strings-attached passion, I can't resist.
When our night together has unexpected consequences, I can't help but think this might be the perfect opportunity to show McKenna just how much I want her.
The only problem? She doesn't do forevers. But forever is exactly what I need with her.

What People Are Saying About Reckless Hearts: "An emotional, heartfelt, and absolutely beautiful story. I wanted each character to be my best friend. Reckless Hearts was so real, with gorgeous writing that kept me hooked from first page to the last." --JENNIFER BLACKWOOD, USA Today bestselling author of The Rule Book "Van Fleet has mastered the alpha hero. With perfectly flawed characters and miles of scorching heat, Reckless Hearts is a must read!" --KELLY SISKIND, author of A Fine Mess"Swoon-worthy...can't wait for the next addition to the series!"--RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars

This is the 3rd and final book of the Reckless Hearts series. With Gavin and McKenna getting their story.  Gavin is an interesting character, with plenty of baggage from his time in the military. McKenna is perfect for him, with her attitude and she’s not going to let him go. Their journey to happily ever after makes for a great and enjoyable read.

Near the midpoint of the Upper Peninsula, along a Lake Michigan bend of shore, is the town of Manistique, Michigan. Mark had never heard of Manistique before the death of his estranged aunt, but as sole beneficiary of Vivian’s estate, he travels there to settle her affairs. As Mark tours his aunt’s house for the first time, the doorbell rings.
Days after graduating medical school, Dr. Emily Davis drives north, struggling with her illicit rendezvous on Mackinac Island. She never makes it—on the highway near Manistique, her car collides with a deer, shattering the car’s windshield. Stranded for the night, Emily is directed to a nearby bed and breakfast.
Maybe it’s a heady reaction, the revelation that his aunt, an international aid doctor, ran a bed and breakfast in retirement. Or perhaps he plainly feels pity for the young, helpless doctor. Regardless, Mark decides to play host for one night, telling Emily that he’s merely stepping in temporarily while his aunt is away.
As a one-night stay turns into another and more guests arrive, the ersatz innkeeper steadily loses control of his story. And though Emily opens up to Mark, she has trouble explaining the middle-aged man who unexpectedly arrives at the doorstep looking for her.
Will these two strangers, holding on to unraveling secrets, remain in town long enough to discover the connection between them?

This is one of those books that you just really get into and are unable to put down until you finish it. The setting is very charming and the characters are quirky and so likable. When Mark a financial advisor from Chicago inherits a building from his aunt, which turns out to actually be a Bed and Breakfast. So he now steps into the role of host and the fun begins. The twists and turns in this book really keep you turning the page until the end.

Outcast and exiled, the demon Tarrik Nal-Valim has long been forgotten by the world of humans. At least, so he thinks.
But when he is summoned as a last resort by a desperate sorcerer, it seems as though his past has caught up with him. The sorcerer is Serenity “Ren” Branwen, the daughter of Tarrik’s former master—and friend. Though she seems cold, driven, and ruthless, Tarrik can tell that Ren has her back against a wall, and he is compelled by ferocious powers to obey her.
As their world sinks into a terrifying maelstrom of murder, intrigue, and insurrection, Tarrik is forced to serve Ren’s arcane designs—plans that, if they were to succeed, would resurrect unimaginable power and could destroy Tarrik’s entire race.
But as events unfurl, the lines between demon and master become blurred, and Tarrik realizes that Ren is not what she seems. To prevent utter devastation, Tarrik may have to surrender what he values most: a chance at redemption and an end to his exile.

First and foremost I really liked Tarrik Nal-Valim, he tells it like it is. He’s a snarky demon who’s been around the block a few times. When he is finally called back to serve someone, he’d really hoped that they forgot all about him. He finds him face to face with an old master of his daughter who’s in a bit of a pickle. The sparing between Tarrik and Ren is fun to see. They both are strong people who are both in positions they don’t want to be in. But necessity is demanding it of them at this time. It takes time and mistakes for them to realize that they really should work together instead of fighting to be the one controlling the situation. That makes this a fun book to read, and one that pulls you in so you cant put it down.

I really enjoyed this book very much and look forwards to others in this series.

From the show's creators comes the groundbreaking novel inspired by the Broadway smash hit Dear Evan Hansen.
Dear Evan Hansen,
Today's going to be an amazing day and here's why...

When a letter that was never meant to be seen by anyone draws high school senior Evan Hansen into a family's grief over the loss of their son, he is given the chance of a lifetime: to belong. He just has to stick to a lie he never meant to tell, that the notoriously troubled Connor Murphy was his secret best friend.
Suddenly, Evan isn't invisible anymore--even to the girl of his dreams. And Connor Murphy's parents, with their beautiful home on the other side of town, have taken him in like he was their own, desperate to know more about their enigmatic son from his closest friend. As Evan gets pulled deeper into their swirl of anger, regret, and confusion, he knows that what he's doing can't be right, but if he's helping people, how wrong can it be?
No longer tangled in his once-incapacitating anxiety, this new Evan has a purpose. And a website. He's confident. He's a viral phenomenon. Every day is amazing. Until everything is in danger of unraveling and he comes face to face with his greatest obstacle: himself.
A simple lie leads to complicated truths in this big-hearted coming-of-age story of grief, authenticity and the struggle to belong in an age of instant connectivity and profound isolation.

I really had a good time reading this book. My daughters choir is going to see the play next year so I jumped at the chance to read this one. This story is so powerful, sad and full of hope wrapped into one. I think that this is the perfect story for kids to read, to see that they are not alone if even they feel like they are.

After reading this book I can’t wait till we can go and see the play.
